Fountains Abbey

Fountains Abbey, originally uploaded by mologo.

Taken today at Fountains Abbey. Had this pic in my head for at least a year. This is the first draft. It has a long way to go before it makes it on the wall!

The future

Another tractor abstract. This one reminded me of a robot.

Taken on iPhone 3gs, and messed around with the 'camerabag' app.

Rectangles

Taken with iPhone 3gs, and processed with shake it, at malham. I really like the simplicity of the composition and continue to be impressed with the 'shake it' application.

Tractor

Just bought a great iPhone app that makes your pictures look like they were taken on a Polaroid camera. The app is call shake it. I love it!

The New Forest

We have now moved out of west Wales via a place called Llantwit Major and have ended up in the New Forest! Excellent campsite (forestry people). I think we might stay here for a day or two.

Here is where the pic was taken,

Poppit Sands, West Wales

My inlaws used to own a holiday cottage here. Pippa played here as a child. It is a lovely beach worth a look if you are in the area.

There is a significant rocky out-crop just off to the left of the beach which would provide a brilliant lead-line out to sunset. Unfortunately I can't get here for sunset!

You can find it here,

Aberystwyth

Just stopped off here for an hour or two to have a spot of lunch.

Nice beach with large grain sand (so no sensor damage). Lots of stuff on the beach leading the eye into the water. Prob not the best beach in the world but ok for a bit of photographic fun!

Dyserth falls

Mum and Dad used to take me to this waterfall when i was a kid. After 28 years I have gone back, with my little boy, on our way to snowdonia. The place has not changed a bit. I can't really get my head around the volume of water that must have fallen here over the past 28 years. I wonder how long the waterfall has been here?

A beautiful place, and a great waterfall to photograph. Ice cream is available too.

You can find it here,

Published!

Photographs that I have recently taken for Leeds City Council & Anita Morris Associates have been published in various places.

This is a great project and I am privileged to be involved.

If you live in, or are visiting the area I recommend getting down there to the Wonderwood (Holbeck) for a bite to eat and a few beers.

Holbeck Urban Village

I have recently started to make a leap into the world of professional photography. To date I have photographed 1 wedding, 1 series of 'still life' photos (to meet a brief) and a weekend of event photographs. I have really enjoyed earning lots of cash taking pictures but must confess that it is a lot harder and more stressful than you might think. Fortunately I have worked for with some really great people who were very patient and understanding.

These are just two of the 600~ish pictures that I have taken as part of the Holbeck Urban Gardening weekend organised by Leeds city council.

Featured Photographer: Steve Gosling

These are four of my favourite Steve Gosling pin-hole camera photographs recently exhibited in Ilkley museum, near my house. The original images are about 1m by 1m ~ish and our very impressive. I recently read that Steve made his own pin-hole camera to take these shots. You can check out more of his pictures at Steve Gosling Photography

Taj

Taj srgb, originally uploaded by mologo.

Just got back from a trip around India's golden triangle (Dehli, Agra and Jaipur). Bloody brilliant trip. Whilst I agree that this is a typical shot. I had to take it! Believe it or not this is a very difficult shot to get. The place is just so busy. I had to go back at sunrise to take this and even then lots of people got in the way.

The Taj is a photographers dream. It is constructed in such a way as to always be in proportion. For example, carvings at the top are bigger than carvings at the bottom. Hence when you stand in front of it carvings at the top seem to be the same size as the carvings right in front of you. This makes taking pictures of it (and post processing) very easy. I would recomend a trip there, and am currently planning my next visit for a few years time.
