A rework of an old one for some printing things. I think i prefer this version - although less dramatic.

This is my first attempt at stiching two pictures together. I am not sure why I picked a moving subject but things workied out fine in the end.

I think this is the final picture in the crete sunset series - my personal favourite from the evening.

Crete is an amazing and unexploited place for photography. I literally got out for 2 hours and managed these coast shots. Spending a lot more time here is high on my to do list.

Just to the left of this scene are the 'white mountains' of Crete. A massive mountain range of exceptional beauty. I didn't take any pictures of them due to the unfortunate blur from the summer heat. A friend on the island tells me that they are crisp and snow covered in winter time. Sounds like a challenge to me :)

give me your arm

I don't get over to the coast that often. You can imagine my dispair that on the one chance i get and am likely to get (for a while) the tide is high and the sky is featureless. This shot is a 'must have in your portfolio' shot if you live in this part of the world. This is the best i could manage. Whitby Pier with none-moody sky............... bloody weather.

It is strange but abstract photography never seems as popular as dramatic moody landscapes........... Sometimes i prefer it.

Time_Takes_Time

The name come from the Ben Folds song - Time. I was listening to this song as i took the picture.

To achieve this effect i copied the picture so that it was in two layers. I lightened the top layer, used the diffuse glow filter and gave it an opacity of 50%. I added a layer mask to this top layer and used the brush tool (with mask selected) set to 3% opacity - Black. This was to pull the darker bottom layer through.
